New-Shipment-of-Medicines-and-Medical-Supplies-Delivered-to-Gaza-Hospitals.png

PalMed Europe, in cooperation with its Sweden branch and the humanitarian organisation Norwac, has successfully secured and delivered essential medicines and medical supplies required for the treatment of Guillain–Barré Syndrome (GBS) in Gaza.

Recent figures from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) indicate a concerning rise in GBS cases — a rare but potentially life-threatening neurological condition in which the immune system attacks the peripheral nervous system.

As of 31 July 2025, 64 cases had been reported, including 27 children under the age of 15 — a dramatic increase compared to the pre-war average of five cases per year.

According to the World Health Organization, Gaza had no available stock of Intravenous Immunoglobulin (IVIG), the primary and life-saving treatment for GBS.
On 4 August, the Ministry of Health confirmed three deaths linked to the condition, including two children.

PalMed’s Commitment

This shipment represents part of PalMed Europe’s continuous efforts to support Gaza’s health system and provide life-saving interventions. We pray for safety, healing, and protection for our people and patients.

Special thanks go to our colleagues in the Sweden branch for leading this important initiative.

Together, we heal the wounds.

As part of its ongoing efforts to support the severely strained healthcare system in the Gaza Strip amid the continuing aggression, the Palestinian Doctors Association in Europe (PalMed) has successfully delivered an urgent shipment of essential medicines and vital medical supplies to the Ministry of Health and frontline healthcare providers in Gaza.
This initiative is part of a wider series of PalMed projects aimed at strengthening the health sector in Gaza, where hospitals and clinics are facing a severe shortage of medicines and equipment. The crisis has led to significant difficulties in treating patients and the injured, and in many cases, has forced healthcare facilities to suspend their services entirely.
PalMed remains committed to fulfilling its duty towards our people in Palestine — and particularly in Gaza — by continuing to provide vital medical support and assistance whenever and wherever it is needed.

Gaza City, 08/02/2025

The Palestinian Doctors’ Association in Europe – Netherlands Branch, has delivered a shipment of medicines, medical supplies, and equipment to the Baptist Hospital in Gaza City. This is to help the hospital continue providing medical services to the residents of Northern Gaza, encompassing the cities of Beit Hanoun, Beit Lahia, Jabalia Gaza, and their associated refugee camps.

This project is part of a series of initiatives by PalMed-Europe to support the healthcare sector in the Gaza Strip. Hospitals and health clinics in Gaza are facing a severe shortage of medicines and medical supplies, which has led to overwhelming challenges, at times reaching the point of being unable to treat patients and the injured, causing the closure of many health facilities.

It is worth noting that the medicine shortage crisis in the Gaza Strip has reached a critical stage, warning of an impending disaster, with increasing reports of postponed surgeries and an inability to provide treatment for those with chronic diseases.

PalMed-Europe will continue its efforts, God willing, in fulfilling its duty towards our people in Palestine, especially in Gaza.
