This report highlights the latest activities of Al-Jalaa Medical Centre in the Gaza Strip, which is managed by the UK branch of PalMed Europe in collaboration with the parent organisation, during the final weeks of November and December 2025.

These activities reflect the scale of healthcare interventions delivered under extremely difficult humanitarian conditions, marked by severe shortages of medical supplies and the continuous deterioration of living conditions.
The centre continues to serve as a vital pillar in providing free healthcare services to the population through departments including paediatrics and ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) clinics.
Each week, the centre treats between 500 and 550 patients suffering from acute and chronic conditions, many of which are worsened by overcrowding and the ongoing state of emergency.
We pray for the safety of our people in Gaza and a speedy recovery for the wounded.
Together, we heal the wounds.

A new medical delegation from PalMed Europe has successfully arrived in the Gaza Strip.

With the grace and blessings of Allah, PalMed Europe’s 34th specialised medical delegation arrived last Tuesday, 10/02/2026, at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis.
The delegation consists of three specialist doctors:
• Ophthalmic Surgeon
• Orthopaedic Surgeon
• Neurologist
Unfortunately, the occupation authorities prevented the vascular surgeon from travelling to Gaza.
It is worth noting that PalMed’s specialised medical delegations are coordinated in collaboration with the World Health Organization.
At PalMed Europe, we continue — with Allah’s help — to send specialised medical teams, essential medical supplies, and medications in fulfilment of our professional and humanitarian duty, while supporting the resilience of our local healthcare colleagues.
Together, we heal the wounds.

Gaza. Jan.2026

The Palestinian Medical Association in Europe (PalMed) announced the successful completion of 7 open-heart surgeries in Gaza in January 2026, marking the return of this critical life-saving service after more than two years of interruption due to war, blockade, and severe healthcare challenges.

The surgeries were performed by Dr. Kifah Alwan, cardiac surgeon from the PalMed medical mission, in collaboration with the national cardiac surgery team in Gaza led by Dr. Saher Abu Ghali, and a specialized medical team from Al-Quds Hospital, with the presence of local and international medical delegations. This achievement reflects strong cooperation between national and international medical expertise under extremely challenging conditions.

Dr. Ahmad Abu Nadi, Head of PalMed Gaza Office, expressed pride in restoring open-heart surgery services, emphasizing that this achievement brings real hope to heart patients who are unable to travel abroad for treatment due to limited medical referrals and movement restrictions. He also thanked the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the Palestinian Red Crescent – Al-Quds Hospital, and all medical teams involved in making this mission successful.

This milestone represents an important step in restoring specialized healthcare services in Gaza and offers hope to heart patients and their families despite the ongoing humanitarian and medical challenges.
