The Islamic University of Gaza has celebrated the graduation of the 14th cohort of medical students, a remarkable milestone that reflects determination, resilience, and the pursuit of life amid destruction and hardship. This graduation sends a powerful message to the world: Gaza will not surrender, and its people will continue building a future filled with knowledge and hope.
PalMed Europe and PalMed Academy are proud to have been among the earliest supporters of this achievement through the Gaza Educate Medics program, dedicated to strengthening medical education and empowering the next generation of doctors in Gaza.
Together, we heal wounds and build a healthier future, God willing.
In cooperation with Yaffa Medical Hospital, the Palestinian Doctors Association in Turkey, in coordination with PalMed Europe, continue the campaign to perform life-saving surgeries for children and the wounded in Gaza.
This initiative is part of a wider series of projects dedicated to supporting the health sector in Gaza, particularly during these extremely challenging times. Hospitals in Gaza continue to suffer from severe shortages of medical equipment and supplies.
It is worth noting that only 16 out of 38 hospitals in Gaza are partially functioning, facing a critical lack of medical staff and essential supplies, including anaesthesia and antibiotics. Despite these hardships, healthcare workers remain committed to saving lives.
We pray for the safety of our people in Gaza and for the swift recovery of the injured.
Together, by the will of God, we heal the wounds.

With praise and gratitude to God, three doctors from the Palestinian Doctors Association – Europe (PalMed Europe) have arrived today in Gaza, in partnership with Rahma International and in coordination with the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
This marks PalMed’s 20th medical delegation to Gaza since the beginning of the ongoing Genocide, continuing our mission to support the healthcare system and provide urgent medical relief.
This 20th specialist delegation originally consisted of seven doctors; unfortunately, four were denied entry. However, three senior consultants successfully arrived, specializing in:
ENT Surgery (Ear, Nose, and Throat)
Orthopedic Surgery
Internal Medicine and Cardiology
The delegation will perform advanced surgical procedures for patients and wounded individuals in Gaza, aiming to ease their suffering and support local medical teams who have been working under extreme conditions.
With God’s will, PalMed will continue to send specialist delegations, along with essential medications and supplies—fulfilling our medical and humanitarian duty and standing in solidarity with the dedicated healthcare workers of Gaza.
We pray for the safety of our delegation members, all medical staff, and the people of Gaza. May this unjust aggression come to an end soon, by God’s mercy and strength.
Together, we heal the wounds.
June 1, 2025 – Gaza Strip

With the collapse of the healthcare system in Gaza, most paediatric hospitals have ceased operations. In response, Friends of the Patient Charitable Association, under the guidance of the Palestinian Ministry of Health, has stepped in to serve as a dedicated children’s hospital—providing emergency care, intensive care, neonatal services, and inpatient treatment.
To expand its services and meet growing needs, the hospital has opened a specialised paediatric surgery clinic. Through partnerships with medical and humanitarian organizations, it is now performing life-changing operations for children affected by the war.
On March 20, 2025, the hospital signed an agreement with PalMed – Italy to launch a new surgical project aimed at supporting war-affected children. The initiative will provide 70 surgical procedures to improve children’s health and ease their suffering. The operations are being carried out by a skilled team of specialised doctors in the Hospital’s surgical facilities.
The project also includes pre- and post-operative care, hospital stays where needed, and ongoing medical follow-up. To support the emotional well-being of the children, the hospital is providing toys and small gifts, helping to bring moments of joy and comfort during recovery.
By addressing both the physical and psychological needs of the children—and relieving the financial burden on families—this initiative offers a vital source of hope and healing in the midst of crisis.
Together, we heal the wounds.
The Central Sterilisation Department is considered one of the critical departments at the Gaza-European Hospital. This hospital is one of the three remaining hospitals serving citizens in the southern region of the Gaza Strip, which also includes a number of displaced persons. It is the second-ranking hospital in terms of specialisations and readiness to provide services, particularly in surgeries and intensive care, in addition to outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, and similar departments.
The Central Sterilisation Department serves all specialisations throughout the hospital, most notably the 5 central operating theatres, the recovery unit with a capacity of no less than 6–8 beds, the cardiac surgery and catheterisation unit, and the neurosurgery department. It also serves the daycare rooms, adult and paediatric intensive care units, neonatal unit, and emergency departments.
The first phase of the project aims to carry out comprehensive maintenance work for the department, encompassing various deteriorated and damaged structural elements such as suspended ceilings, doors, walls, marble counters, and others. Additionally, 3 new instrument washing machines will be supplied to ensure high efficiency in washing and sanitisation.
The project is expected to be completed within a maximum of 82 days, covering all components mentioned below, with the final handover to the representative of the consortium or their delegate upon completion.
1. Comprehensive Maintenance: Enhancing the department’s efficiency through integrated maintenance that includes water and wastewater networks, ceilings, sanitary facilities, carpentry, and aluminium works.
2. Improvement of General Appearance, Cleanliness, Storage, Organisation, and the Level of Instrument and Environmental Sterilisation: This shall be achieved through the proposed construction works, including marble works that will involve custom-built housings for the new washers and properly protected storage containers made from materials that are easily cleanable and which contribute to elevated standards of infection control.
1. Maintenance of Suspended Ceilings: Evaluation and replacement of damaged tiles to ensure the facility’s safety.
2. Maintenance of Water and Wastewater Networks: Renovation of piping systems and related bathroom fixtures.
3. Painting and Interior Design Works: Treatment and painting of walls.
4. Carpentry Works: Repair of doors and replacement of damaged ones.
5. Aluminium Works: Maintenance of aluminium doors and replacement of broken glass and similar components.
6. Marble Works: Maintenance of washbasins and department-specific cabinets, fabrication of custom storage units for the washing area, and installation of a nursing station counter.
7. Tiling Works: Maintenance of floor and wall tiles.
8. Fixture Installations: Installation of fibreglass wall panels with protective aluminium corner guards.
9. Supply of Washing Machines for the Department’s Instruments: Supply, installation, and commissioning of the machines.
In the midst of ongoing crises caused by the blockade and war on Gaza, even routine medical procedures can become inaccessible.
Many patients have faced prolonged delays in undergoing essential surgeries—whether major, intermediate, or minor—procedures that are crucial for alleviating pain, reducing suffering, improving daily life, and supporting healthy development.
Through our latest project, the Denmark branch of the Palestinian Doctors in Europe has helped 80 patients and injured individuals finally receive the care they have long awaited. The branch provided funding for 113 surgical procedures across various specialities, including general surgery, orthopaedics, urology, gynaecology, ophthalmology, vascular surgery, and maxillofacial surgery. These procedures were carried out by specialised surgical teams at three hospitals: Al-Sahaba Medical Complex, Al-Awda Health and Community Association, and Public Service Hospital.
We have ensured that these patients receive the care they need in a timely and efficient manner.
No patient should have to wait for essential medical treatment.
With your support, we can continue to remove barriers to healthcare access and provide every patient with a healthier future.
